I personally believe that the reason my hair is so long is simply genetics. I don't know a whole lot about my father's side of the family other than he was from Blackfoot Indian descent. My mother's side of the family, all of the women had long thick hair at at least some point in their life (many cut it later in life).
I have been growing my hair for about 20 years or so. For most of that time, I was cutting 16 to 18 inches off every other year. I was donating to Locks of Love but. ended up switching to wigs for kids.
I originally started growing it out because a man I was dating wanted me to grow it longer and I just kept growing it- He's gone, but the hair remains.
I have zero interest in putting it up in a bun or doing anything else with it, Many of the comments I get consist of "have you ever tried doing it this way" Either I've tried it and didn't like it or I just have no interest.
I don't use anything spectacular on my hair that would make it grow, nor do I really take anything that would assist in that. Below I will show you some products that I have used for years. Perhaps it makes a difference, but most likely not.
I use this shampoo daily. I'm not real picky on shampoos to be honest. Most of them do the same thing, so it's not really a big deal for me.
I have used TRESemme conditioners for years. With this I don't have much build up. It's easy to comb out after I wash it and it makes it to where it's a lot easier to work with and braid.
This is another conditioner that I use from time to time. I rarely use the same conditioner Every single day I try to switch it up quite a bit.
I also take a multivitamin daily. I've been taking this for about. 20 years. Not always the 50 plus, however. Always a multivitamin.
OK, so I don't use this product quite as it is intended to be used. I basically use it as a leaving in conditioner. After I have brushed out my hair, I dip a couple fingers in it and spread it across both of my hands almost as if I'm putting on lotion and then run it through my hair.
This is what I consume the most of. I make coffee as soon as I get up and I drink it basically all day long and even take some to bed with me. Maybe that has something to do with the hair, but probably not.
I recently started using this, and it is absolutely fabulous. I was a bit hesitant about buying an off brand, but it was definitely a great decision. A little cheaper than the name brand and works.
If you want more hair donated, cut your own, If and when I cut some off, I plan to donate it again but I'm not doing so just because you say to. My hair, my choice!
It's not. What you see in a video and what I'm feeling in my hands are apparently two totally different things. I've also noticed that the same ones saying this tend to have short hair...
Though i began growing it for my now ex, I basically keep it because I'm just used to it and I'm known for it now. It's just part of who I am I guess.
Some I have and didn't like the way it felt. With the braid I can easily tuck it away or just move it if it happens to get in the way.
I wash it at least once a day. Sometimes I wash it more than that but it depends on what I've been doing- if I've been working in the yard I'm most likely going to wash it again because it probably fell in dirt or something.
